A perfect end to the outdoor season in September for our ladies Gill, Rosie, Eileen and Debbie

September was a very special time for Rosie Pratt, Gill Campbell and Chardstock Bowling Club. They won the Bowls Devon Women’s Over 70s Pairs Final at the Championships held in Exmouth. They were presented with the winners trophy by Denise Clarke, Women’s President of Bowls Devon. They played 7 knockout matches over the summer to win this prestigious award and certainly put Chardstock Bowling Club on the map.

Rosie and Gill together with Eileen Rolph and Debbie Manley were part of the winning Bowls Devon Section 3 (East Devon) team who played in the semi final and finals of the Jubilee Cup in Paignton. It was the first time that Section 3 had won the Jubilee Cup since 2017.

Congratulations to Chardstock who are the 2026 Division 2 Champions in the Women's Triples League and are promoted to Division 1.

Well done to Rosie, Gill, Eileen, Debbie, Carole, Nicky, Helen, Penny, Vanessa and Jeanette who all took part in the League and made it such a successful season.

It all came down to the last match of the season to decide whether Chardstock or Tiverton Canal would win Division 2. Chardstock had been leading Division 2 for most of the season and were only one point ahead of Tiverton Canal before the last match. Both teams needed at least 4 points in the last match to win the title. It was a very close match with both Chardstock and Tiverton Canal teams winning one game and 2 points each. The title was only decided in the very last end with Chardstock scoring enough total shots to win the overall points.

Congratulations to Tiverton Canal who are also promoted to Division 1.
