Chardstock Bowling Club was established in 1957 on the site of an old quarry.

We are a small but friendly club, catering for players of all ages, men and women, experienced or new to the sport, playing in one of the most beautiful settings in Devon. All our members get chances to play and develop their game.

Our club has three qualified coaches who run coaching sessions for new members, helping them to learn how to bowl. These sessions are free.

We offer outdoor bowling on a five rink, lawn bowling green which is used from mid-April to mid-September.

 

In addition to rollups/practice sessions for our members, there are many opportunities for our members to play in:

• Outdoor Club league and competitions which cater for all our members

• Outdoor matches in the Exeter & District Men's Over 60s Triples League, Exeter & District Ladies Triples League and the South Somerset Friendly League

• Outdoor Friendly matches against many clubs in Devon, Dorset and Somerset in a wide area ranging from Exmouth to Bridport, Wellington to Yeovil

• Outdoor competitive matches at Devon County level

During the winter (October - March), Chardstock Bowling Club participate in indoor mixed friendly matches. These all take place away at clubs in Devon (Budleigh Salterton, Honiton, Sidmouth), Dorset (Bridport) and Somerset (Taunton Vivary, Yeovil). 

 
We are affiliated to Bowls Devon and Bowls England. We participate in Bowls Devon Section 3 leagues and competitions.
